A latest study suggests that regular rounds on the dance floor may reduce your possibilities of dying from heart disease.
The study involved 48,000 people within the UK who answered questions on their dancing and walking habits up to now month. All were aged 40 years and older with no history of heart problems and agreed to be linked to the National Death Registry.
After a median follow-up of about 10 years, the researchers found that moderate dancing was related to a lower risk of cardiovascular death. This profit was barely higher than for walking, and possibly stronger in women than in men.
The results don’t prove that dancing lowers the death rate, and long-term dancers could also be healthier to start with. Still, dancing can offer short bouts of high-intensity exercise in addition to stress-relieving social interactions, the authors say, in findings published in June 2016.
