March 7, 2023 – Two eye drop manufacturers have recalled products resulting from concerns about contamination and sterility.
Last week, the FDA issued recall notices for eye drops from Pharmacida And Apotex after the businesses announced that they’d voluntarily recall the products.
“The use of contaminated eye drops can lead to eye infections that can cause blindness,” Pharmedica said of a few of its Purely soothing 15% MSM drops. The company asked consumers to stop using the drops and return them to the purpose of purchase. They can be found over-the-counter and are used to treat eye irritation.
The recall affects about 3,000 bottles of the product manufactured in Arizona. The FDA said there have been no reports of injuries.
Apotex is Remember Some of its glaucoma drops were marketed as 0.15% brimonidine tartrate eye drops and were sold from April to February last yr.
The company said it found cracks in some bottle caps. No injuries were reported. The eye drops were manufactured in Canada.
