August 24, 2023 – The FDA is urging the general public to avoid purchasing or using two several types of eye drops on account of possible bacterial or fungal contamination.
The warning applies to “Dr. Berne's MSM Drops 5% Solution” and “LightEyez MSM Eye Drops – Eye Repair”. Possible infections could endanger vision and life. The FDA says He just isn’t aware of anyone who has reported an issue because of this of using the products.
FDA testing found that the 2 products were contaminated with microbes and weren’t sterile, as required by federal law. Both products contained methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) as an energetic ingredient, which just isn’t approved in eye drops, the agency said.
“Using contaminated eye drops can cause a mild to severe vision-threatening infection that may develop into a life-threatening infection,” the FDA said.
