News briefs

Many people think that the one reason for normal exercise is since it helps you maintain a healthy weight. not true. A sedentary lifestyle may cancel out the potential cardiovascular advantages of weight control, in keeping with a study published online on December 4, 2018. American Journal of Cardiology. Researchers checked out five years of health survey responses and weight calculations from 1000’s of obese and normal-weight people ages 40 to 79 who had never had heart disease. The scientists noted the participants' amount of abdominal fat, waist size, and self-reported amount of physical activity, then calculated every person's risk of heart problems. Results: 30% of normal-weight sedentary people had the identical risk of heart attack or stroke as obese people. Sedentary adults who were normal weight also had higher levels of abdominal fat, dyspnea during exertion, and waist circumference than normal-weight adults who exercised commonly. However, people of normal weight who exercised not less than 150 minutes every week were 58 percent less prone to have a heart attack than those within the study.
